Ep204: Lords of Chaos – WGT

Lay down your souls to the gods rock ‘n roll! Heavy metal and horror films go together like peanut butter and bacon (seriously, try it). It seems like it was only a matter of time before we’d eventually see more horror films about heavy metal. Luckily for all of us, the real life events surrounding the bands Mayhem, Burzum and the creation of Norwegian Black Metal were just begging for a big screen adaptation.

Lords of Chaos introduces a world of unfamiliar fans to all of the church burning, knife wielding, corpse painted insanity that was Norway and the metal scene in the early 1990s. An adaptation of the book of the same name, Lords of Chaos claims it is based on “truth, lies, and what really happened”, but how much of this blood soaked tale is fact, and how much is just for show?

Goddamn heads landing on cars while Long Island families are singing ‘Found a Peanut’! They found a peanut, all right, honey. They found a peanut of death! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 204!

Mini Episode: Telluride Horror Show 2017 – WGT

For the last eight years, darkness has descended on the quiet mountain town of Telluride, Colorado. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: “The second weekend of October is my favorite weekend of the year.” This is the weekend of the Telluride Horror Show! Set against a gorgeous backdrop of tree lined, snow covered mountain tops, the Telluride Horror Show has quickly cemented itself as one of the countries best horror film festivals.

Alia and I were once again lucky enough to be invited to join in the festivities, and this years event was even better than the last! Unfortunately we forgot a very important piece of recording equipment back in San Diego, and we had to make the best of what we had. Fair warning, the audio quality is fine, just not up to the normal Who Goes There Podcast standards. Join us, as we recap the films we saw, those we loved, one we didn’t, and declare our without-a-doubt “best of show.”
