Ahoy there, fuckos! We’re back with another rip roaring, humdinger episode of the Who Goes There Podcast, but first we need to go over some background information to bring you up to speed on the Slender Man. In 2009, an internet forum user named Eric Knudsen (also known as “Victor Surge”) created and unleashed the Slender Man upon the masses. Depicted as a thin, unnaturally tall humanoid with a featureless head and face and wearing a black suit, stories of the Slender Man commonly feature him appearing throughout history to stalk, abduct or traumatize people, particularly children.
In 2012 a video game entitled Slender: The Eight Pages was released and scared the piss out of a new group of unsuspecting cowards; and in 2014 art and reality came crashing together as two twelve year old girls stabbed a classmate 19 times in an attempt to join Slender Man’s cult.
Now, in 2018 we have Slender Man, a movie no one wanted, released more than five years after it’s titular character was most relevant (review starts at 30:48). Is Slender Man really as bad as everyone thinks it will be? Is the film nothing more than Sony’s disgusting attempt to make a quick buck off the attempted murder of a child? Tune in to find out!
I love to feel the flames devour the wood. Who says there’s no beauty in destruction? It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 176!
