Ep376: 2022 Year in Review – WGT

Salutations, ya slack-jawed shit-slingers. The earth has once again traveled all the way around the sun, so you know what that mean! It means all of you idiots are going to make pointless resolutions that you’re never going to stick to, and you’re going to clog up the gym for a month before settling back into your crumb-covered couches. I have a home gym though, so clearly I’m superior and unaffected by your sloth-like nature.

In addition to that we’re reviewing our picks for the best and worst films of 2022. Huzzah! Halfway through 2022 we’d been discussing how the world of horror was severely lacking this year. Shortly after that all changed as our eyes were blessed with some real heavy hitters. So here it is, our best and worst of 2022. Do you agree with us? Is there something you love or hate that we missed? We don’t fuckin care. You can still “at” us. See how that works out for ya.

Oo-de-lolly, folks! This is it. This is what we’ve been building to for 44 years! Through the ups and downs we have persevered as a fandom, and as a community, and now we gather together to witness the final showdown between good and evil. Or maybe we won’t. Maybe we’ll just bring on a new host. Then we can talk to them for over half of the show. Maybe then we’ll realize we need an ending and shoehorn a discussion about a film. 

What was I talking about? Oh, right. Halloween Ends. I mean, if the writers and directors forgot they were doing a Halloween film, it’s not so bad if I forget too. Right?

This time the resurrection is being produced by Fede Alvarez, that’s good right? Look at what he did with Evil Dead. SURELY he could revitalize the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, right? There’s no way this could be terrible…right?
