EPISODE 385: DEADSTREAM

You’re back! That warms our hearts. There’s a lot of crazy shit going on, as usual. Rich people getting their boats flipped by Killer Whales, rich people getting yeeted into soup after imploding in a janky-ass submarine equipped with a cheap gaming controller as a navigation device while trying to visit the Titanic, a mercenary insurrection in Russia. Yes, it’s a wild time to be alive. We suppose this has always been the case though. 

This episode we dive into DEADSTREAM, a found footage horror/comedy revolving around a recently disgraced Youtuber who’s willing to do anything to get his followers back. For those who haven’t seen it the movie is currently available to stream on Shudder.

Salutations idiots! Hopefully you’ve had the opportunity to listen to the previous episode featuring the introduction of our new cohost, Jacob. He’s dope. We appreciate him, and we appreciate all the good will and words of encouragement we’ve received from many of you.

Next up is 2022’s bonkers South Korean sci-fi action horror hybrid, PROJECT WOLF HUNTING. Among other fine moments, this film bears the distinction of being the only film we’re aware of in which a man is presumably killed by another man’s Dee, mid-cockgobble. This is important stuff. The film is currently available to rent on VOD or stream on Screambox.

Ep382: Tetsuo The Ironman and Evil Dead Rise

Ah! It’s been a long time, we shouldn’t have left you, without a dope beat to step to. More accurately, it’s been like 3 months at most, and we have no beats.

But we’re back! And when I say “we” I mean exactly two thirds of what you’re used to. Yes, friends, idiots, and people reading this out of morbid curiosity, Matt has shuffled off this silly-ass show and embraced the next chapter of his life. We will miss him and hope he’ll be making periodic special guest appearances when he feels like it.

We have a new cohost on the show joining us. We need the energy of the triforce to sustain the Dee. It’s a new era of sorts, again, for WGT, and the chemistry is guaranteed to be a bit different. We’re just going to continue doing what we do and letting it take shape.

This is a massive slab of content here, as we present to you not one but two episodes. Episode #382 is Matty Ding Dong’s final outing with us which we recorded a few months back. We review and discuss 1989’s Japanese body horror extravaganza, TETSUO: THE IRON MAN.

Episode #383 is our first without Matt, wherein we welcome our new third throbbing member and discuss 2023’s EVIL DEAD RISE.
