EPISODE 404: VIRUS

Picture this if you will, it’s January 1999. Britney Spears’ debut album is all over the place, bands like Sugar Ray and Limp Bizkit saturate alternative radio, Michael Bay’s Armageddon was the biggest movie last Summer, and Bill Clinton “did not have sexual relations with that woman.” SIKE! Just as we begin our spiral into the imminent Y2K apocalypse, Universal Pictures decides to dump an R-Rated $75 million scifi-horror adaptation of a dope Dark Horse comic book in theaters.

This episode, King Hans, the benevolent, bearded lord of our Patreon has decreed we review 1999’s VIRUS, starring the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Billy Baldwin, and motherfucking Donald Sutherland with a strong contender for the most absurd Irish accent in cinema history. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast Episode #404!!!

EPISODE 402: THANKSGIVING

Happy New Year pilgrims! Welcome back and welcome to 2024. This episode (our last recorded in 2023) we discuss Eli Roth’s holiday-themed slasher, THANKSGIVING.
Is the movie a new annual tradition or is it just another seasonal annoyance? Listen and find out.

“Show some enthusiasm. Thanksgiving is an institution here. It’s Thanks-fucking-giving! Every weapon he’s using is straight off a Thanksgiving table. This year, there will be… no leftovers!” It’s the Who Goes There Podcast Episode 402!

EPISODE 385: DEADSTREAM

You’re back! That warms our hearts. There’s a lot of crazy shit going on, as usual. Rich people getting their boats flipped by Killer Whales, rich people getting yeeted into soup after imploding in a janky-ass submarine equipped with a cheap gaming controller as a navigation device while trying to visit the Titanic, a mercenary insurrection in Russia. Yes, it’s a wild time to be alive. We suppose this has always been the case though.

This episode we dive into DEADSTREAM, a found footage horror/comedy revolving around a recently disgraced Youtuber who’s willing to do anything to get his followers back. For those who haven’t seen it the movie is currently available to stream on Shudder.

“Your reality is already half video hallucination. If you’re not careful, it will become total hallucination.” It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 385!

Ep277: Session 9 – WGT

Guess who’s back, back again. It’s we, it’s we, it’s the W.G.T.P.! Lately we’ve been doing a lot of episodes on films based in space, and films with a lot of cut, cut, stabby, stab. Too much sameness makes things no super good. Pretty sure Lincoln said that. Any who, we’re doing something a little different this week, maybe a little bit of ghosts, some possession, a dash of insanity. You know, the usual.

That’s right, clowns, this week we’re discussing 2002’s Session 9! We actually had a very, in depth, well thought out discussion about mental health and how the American medical system has fucked all of us over. We definitely did not just make dick and fart jokes for 90 minutes.

Check back all throughout October as we take a look at the originals and remakes of The Hills Have Eyes, Dawn of the Dead, and A Nightmare on Elm Street as well as an episode on the first three films in the Hellraiser franchise. It’s gonna be tight y’all!

Well it might have been good enough in Rome, but it’s not good enough now. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast  episode 277!

Ep272: Host & Impetigore – WGT

Buenos dias, all my little nose goblins! Your favorite international sex symbols are back with another episode that is just bulging with greatness! We know you have a hard enough time taking in our usual, above average content, so this week, we’re doubling it! That’s right! It’s time for another double episode!

The internet has been all abuzz because someone made a movie about Zoom, and you know, it’s timely. So we submitted and did an episode on the 2020 Shudder original Host. (Review at 19:55) The thing is, Host is only 50 minutes long; that’s just the foreplay baby! After we get you nice and ready, we’re gonna just shove a whole ‘nother episode in there! We’ve got another Shudder original Impetigore!

Let it not be said that we aren’t loving, giving… podcast hosts… Also Rhett has a huge dick. Enjoy the show! Happy birthday to Alia, as well as Jorge’s son Micah.

If this is as exciting as it gets, we’re in big trouble, dude. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 272!

Ep262: Mutant Blast w/ WWE Superstar Baron Corbin

With all that is going on in not only the world, but our own backyard, it seems inappropriate to be celebrating anything. Well, we reached a pretty important milestone here at the Who Goes There Podcast. Today is 7 years to the day since we posted our very first episode. So in honor of such a big event we brought back our biggest (literally) guest to date. That’s right! The haomie Baron Corbin is back to give us his “kingly” take on all things horror!

Last time Tom (Baron) was on the show, we discussed the Stranger Things-esque Summer of ’84. While King Corbin seemed pleased with this offering, we wanted to REALLY ramp up the insanity this time around and show him what WGT is all about. This week we’re discussing the 2019/2020, Portuguese Troma film Mutant Blast (Review starts at 37:07).

We also go back and discuss The Platform, Tom’s “disclaimer” for recommending Matt picks, casual name drops and the fight Matt and Tom will have at Mania 40. What can you expect from the movie itself? How about the most blood in any movie we’ve ever covered? That do anything for you? How about a man-sized, French Lobster in a business suit? Nothing? What if I told you there are no less than 7 heads being PUNCHED off?! That’s right, little ones. Don’t miss this awesome 7 year anniversary extravaganza!

Yes, you may be excused. But hurry back: we’re cutting gonads next. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 262!

Ep233: Little Monsters – WGT

This week is the saddest week of the entire year; it’s the week after the Telluride Horror Show. We had a blast hanging out with old friends, new friends, and some friends we met for the first time. Oh, yeah. We also watched a ton of horror movies. Fear not, little nerds, I’m going to run down the stand out films at the 10th anniversary of the Telluride Horror Show.

Now I know you’re bursting at the seams with excitement to hear my recap, but we’re also doing a movie review! Last week Hulu quietly released a little horror film about a group of kindergartners in the zombie apocalypse. For this reason alone we couldn’t pass up Little Monsters. (Review at 29:12)

We drift through the universe, from planet to planet, pushed on by the solar winds. We adapt and we survive. We listen to the Who Goes There Podcast episode 233!

Ep232: Joker – WGT

Sah, dudes! I’m posting this episode from the Telluride Horror Show tenth anniversary! I know I say this all the time but this is absolutely my favorite weekend of the year. There’s just something so special about getting together with a bunch of like-minded dorks, in the middle of nowhere to watch hours and hours of horror films!

Although I may be having a blast out here there is work that must be done! On that note, we recently sat down to discuss the film everyone is buzzing about: Joker! (Review starts at 22:00)

I would sit here and try to write clever things or run down what else we discuss on this episode, but I’m not going to. I have about 30 minutes to get this episode up, get a bite to eat and make it to the screening of 1BR.

He looks likes something that fell off my dick during the war. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 232!

Ep 230: Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire

Guess who’s back in the mother fuckin’ house, Hell House, that is! After what seems like an eternity, the time has come to shut the doors on the Hell House franchise with Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire! (Review at 42:33)

Four years ago, we checked into the Abaddon Hotel and were treated to one of the most enjoyable and unnerving cinematic experiences in recent memory. I’ll admit the sequel was every bit as good as a Motel 6 continental breakfast. But we were promised the finale to the trilogy would hands down be the crown jewel of the franchise.

In the studio this week is horror author and Patreon haomie Brian Asman. Together, we will let you know if you should check into Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire. Or maybe you just should keep heading down the road until you get to Motel Hell.

In addition to our normal hilarious hijinks, we still can’t stop talking about The Fanatic! (Full review available exclusively on Patreon.) We’ll also give you our thoughts on the first episode of American Horror Story: 1984, Intruder, Fede Alvarez taking the helm of Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Here comes fucking Parker, walking down nine miles, swinging the God damn head by the hair in one hand and his sandwich in the other. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 230!

Classic Episode: The Mist – WGT

This passed Tuesday my wife and occasional co-host Alia was in a very bad motorcycle accident and sustained some major injuries. In addition to some severe road rash Alia’s jaw was broken in two places and she broke a few teeth. Needless to say we were unable to record a new episode this week.

Rather than not release anything we decided to post one of our favorite episodes from the past. A Who Goes There classic, if you will. We’ll be back on schedule this Friday with our Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark episode. If you would like to contribute to the GoFundMe page to help cover Alia’s medical and dental bills, you can contribute here.

We appreciate all of the support we’ve gotten from all of you. We have a long road ahead of us, it’s nice knowing we don’t have to go alone. Thank you.

I’m not going to post a silly quote from a movie this week. I’m just going to use this space to once again say thank you. So, thank you.
