Ep 138: Eden Lake – WGT

Australia has been cranking out some great horror films in the last decade, and it should come as no surprise. It makes sense that those wacky Aussies would know good horror; after all, the live in a country where every single thing, living or not, wants to kill you.

This week we’re throwing shrimp on the barbie, lookin up your bum, and other stereotypical things as we discuss 2008’s Eden Lake. This was an audio only episode, so needless to say, things get a little goofy.

You always take a leak with a gun in your hand? That’s a good way to blow your balls off! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 138!

Ep 136: Baskin – WGT

The 2017 Telluride Horror Show has come and gone. Now, there is an emptiness inside my soul that won’t be filled for another year. Unfortunately, we can’t discuss any of the films from this years festivities yet, since none have been released. Instead we’ll be taking a trip back to 2015 to discuss “Sunday’s Super Secret Matinee”: Baskin.

For a more in depth review of the 2017 Telluride Horror Show check out the episode that we’ll be posting momentarily. That’s right, you lucky ducks! Two episodes of the Who Goes There Podcast on the same day!

Ep 131: IT (2017) – WGT

The time, is finally upon us. After what feels like an eternity of waiting, and the laughably bad adaptations of the Dark Tower, and The Mist tv series, we finally get what we’ve all been waiting for; we finally get…IT!

Join us, as we get swept away (see what I did there?) in trying to figure out if 2017’s IT did justice to the original. But wait, there’s more! Download now, and you’ll also get to hear who we think should play the kids as grown ups, how to milk a shark franchise, and what Chris thought of American Horror Story: Cult.

So there ya have it. Wax up your paper boat, put on your goulashes, and run headfirst into a new episode of awesomeness. Don’t worry, we don’t float down here. We’re too fat.

We recommend that until we can get to you, you stand on your heads, with your thumbs up; it’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 131!

Ep 128: Annabelle: Creation – WGT

We here at the Who Goes There Podcast love a good indie horror flick. This year alone we’ve covered some great independent films like Kuso, A Dark Song, and  We Are The Flesh. However, for every diamond-in-the-rough indie film, there must be a major motion picture release that is being regurgitated for the tenth time. This bring us to present day, and the newest pile of major studio vomit is Annabelle: Creation.

Everyone is talking about Annabelle: Creation. “Is it scary?” “Is it good?” “I bet it’s filled with jump scares.” “What is this stupid doll movie? Dolls aren’t scary!” Fear not my chubby little bunnies for we are here to answer all your questions and more! Why? Because we’re highly trained professionals, you sadists love when we watch films we’re probably going to hate, and we’re masochistic enough not to care,

Annabelle Hacked

Let it be known, sons and daughters, that Satan was an acid head. Drink from his cup; pledge yourselves. And together, we’ll all freak out. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 128!

Ep 127: Night of the Creeps – WGT

Ready up, nerds! We’re dusting off the way back machine and going all the way back to 1986! That’s right, it’s another Chris pick, so you can bet your ding-dongs and hoo-has that we’ll be talking about monsters, snappy one-liners, and everything will be covered in a thick layer of cheese! Prepare yourself, for Night of the Creeps!

Did we forget to mention that it’s Matt’s birthday?! That’s right; our lovable idiot managed to not die for another year. Does Matt have what it takes to make it another year? Probably not, as he literally almost died during this episode!

Ep 126: Kuso – WGT

What happens when you take one part eccentric rapper, dose him with enough acid to kill an elephant, then give him a camera and tell him to “really take it there”? You get 2017’s Kuso, that’s what happens.

Brought to you from the mind(?) of eccentric rapper Flying Lotus, this directorial debut is definitely one of the most disgusting movies we’ve covered on the Who Goes There Podcast. Join us on a magical journey as we discuss the line between art and insanity. In this episode we also take a look at the first official IT trailer, give our thoughts on the new run-your-own-cult game The Shrouded Isle, and for the second week in a row, we discuss genital mutilation; it’s what we do.

It’s always the same and it’s always different. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 126!

Ep 125: American Mary – WGT

It’s hotter than two goats in a pepper patch here in San Diego, and things get heated on this week’s episode of the Who Goes There Podcast. Tensions are high as we embark on yet another one of our now infamous Patreon episodes. This month’s pick is brought to us by the long time haomie Jennifer Barloon. Jennifer decoded there was no better way to combine Matt’s love of Katherine Isabelle, and Jorge’s love of the Soska sisters than to have the gang review 2012’s American Mary.

Join us, as we take a look at some of the trailers and big announcements to come out of Comic Con 2017, including Stranger Things Season 2, and American Horror Story: Cult. In addition, Matt regales us with his account of Comic Con, the celebrity he spent the weekend stalking, and what the official scent of Comic Con is.

I’m the poison. I designed the outer shell. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 125!

Ep 124: August Underground – WGT

When we first started this show, Matt had intended for the show to be a platform to introduce people to the really depraved horror films they had most likely never heard of. While we may have shifted the focus of the show to a slightly more digestible format, Matt  and our pal Danny are constantly trying to sneak one of these films into the Who Goes There review schedule; this is one of those episodes.

Be forewarned, some of you delicate types may be “triggered” by some of the content of this week’s discussion. This film is obscenity in a nutshell. This little piece of cinema has enough nudity, blood, guts, fecal material, assault, abuse, and murder to make almost anyone feel like they need a scalding hot shower. Is this film a despicable piece of trash that should never see the light of day? Or is it possible that this blood soaked 71 minutes could be an important piece of horror history? This, is August Underground.

Ep 122: Darkness Rising – WGT

I am not being the slightest bit sarcastic when I say, “this episode made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside”. This week we’re joined by the haomie Steve Garcia, founder of Thr3e Punk Ales Brewing, to see what happens when three people, force their way into a house, stop being nice, and start being morons. Hold on to your hats, dummies. This shit is about to get wild.

We’re pounding cheap beers out of paper bags and discussing 2017’s Darkness Rising. If the term “Gallows mad” means anything to you, you don’t want to miss this episode. Things get heated as we dissect a movie that is as clumsy your first sexual encounter.

Bad luck isn’t brought by broken mirrors, but by the Who Goes There Podcast episode 122!

Ep: 121 – Attack The Block – WGT

You know what? We love you guys. We love you so much that we decided to do back-to-back Patreon picks! This week we’re going all the way across the pond to merry ‘ole England to battle some big, alien, gorilla, wolf mother fuckers! That’s right, dummies! This week we’re doing 2011’s Attack The Block!

Jorge has been championing this movie for what seems like an eternity, and it’s finally time to sink our  glowing teeth into what some would call, “a modern classic”. We also discuss what our method for murder would be if we were slashers, a new video game inspired by The Thing, death by whipped cream, and we get some Sloppy Seconds on The Thing From Uranus.

Keep your shirt on, asshole. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 121!
