EPISODE 410: IMAGINARY

As we continue getting into some new 2024 horror releases, we take a drastic swing from the indie horror of Stop Motion in our previous episode, to the big studio fuckery of IMAGINARY. It’s Blumhouse, it’s PG-13, and it’s directed by the same individual who directed modern classics (SIKE) like Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare and Blumhouse’s Fantasty Island. GODDAMN. Needless to say, we had fun talking about this one.

“Every culture has a name for it, entities that tether to the young. The Spanish call it “El Cuco”. The Trinidadians, the “Jumbie”. We call them imaginary friends.” It’s the Who Goes There Podcast Episode 410!

Ep241: Black Christmas 2019 – WGT

Despite being in my late thirties, not having any children, and living in a place that has never seen snow, I still love Christmas! I just love all the twinkling lights, the endless supply of baked goods, and the feeling of togetherness just warms my cold black heart.

In the spirit of togetherness, it appears the entire horror community has come together to shit all over the 2019 remake of Black Christmas. We may be fashionably late to the party, but we’re shimmying down your chimney with a big red sack full of thoughts and opinions! (Review starts at 24:24)

Sure, it’s sitting there under the tree, hastily wrapped, and falling apart at the seams, but despite the wrapping, this could be the best gift ever. It could also be a lump of coal, that Santa shat on, after eating a bag of sugar free candy. Guess there’s only one way to find out, huh?

Don’t put avocado on the burger! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 241!

Ep215: Ma – WGT

Ahoy there, dorks! We’re back up in that ass with the resurrection! That’s just our fancy way of saying we’re back with another episode of hilarious horror hijinks…for your ass. This episode is pretty front loaded, so if you want to skip right to our thoughts on tonight’s film, skip to the 46:00 mark.

All of us here at Who Goes There are getting pretty tired of hearing the name “Blumhouse” before every cinematic horror release. When you hear “Blumhouse” you get a very clear idea of what type of film you’re about to see. Much like with Troma, and Full Moon, Blumhouse definitely has a “type” when it comes to the films they release. This week, we’ll be discussing 2019’s Ma to see if it’s as wild as a high school kegger, or if it’s “just another Blumhouse film.”

In addition to Ma we also give our thoughts on quite a few new releases, including Recovery, The Cleaning Lady, and The Silence. We’ve also got a heaping helping of horror news for ya; there was a lot to discuss this week.

It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 215 and it …probably contain more than 100,000,000,000 birds!
