Bates Motel Checks In For Season 3

bates-motelBates Motel, the critically acclaimed A&E original series has been picked up for a third season, and will begin production on 10 episodes this fall. The news was announced today by David McKillop, Executive Vice President and General Manager, A&E Network.

The incredible writing team and talented ‘Bates Motel’ cast has made this series one of the most compelling original dramas on television,” said McKillop. “The brilliant twists and turns of the past two seasons keep its loyal fan base coming back for more. We are so proud of the show.

Ghostbusters Sequel a Bust Again

GBwallpaperWe’ve already said “the universe does NOT want this Ghostbusters reboot to happen”. Today we bring you more evidence of that, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (directors of 21 Jump Street, Lego Movie), are no longer on board to direct the third film in the franchise.

The duo took the helm when Ivan Reitman left, following the death of long time friend/Ghostbuster Harold Ramis. Columbia Pictures is currently searching for yet another director, horror fans are crossing their fingers.

Nick Frost’s Directorial Debut To Be Horror Short

Nick-FrostNick Frost (Shaun Of The Dead) has announced he direct a horror short he wrote earlier this year. No plot details or title have been released.

Frost on directing, “Our films, we have so much say in terms of how it should be done. Not with Edgar (Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz) — Edgar’s different because he’s a savant and has worked out every possible angle before we even got to set, but the things I do without Edgar, people are always happy for you to pipe up and say, ‘Hey, maybe we should shoot this here.’

First Wolf Creek 2 U.S. Trailer

Image Entertainment will be giving Wolf Creek 2 a VOD release on April 17th with a theatrical run set for May 16th.

 

Scream TV Series Plot Details Revealed

scream-04-gScream the movie, is soon to become Scream the TV series, and Bloody-Disgusting.com has uncovered the plot details and some casting notes for the upcoming MTV show.

“I’m told that (Wes)Craven will actually be directing the pilot(!) this summer from a screenplay by Jill Blotevogel.

Our source explains that the “rules” of slasher movies is at the center of this new series, as it has been for the franchise. The pilot explores a YouTube video that has gone viral and causes problems for the protagonist, Audrey, who is caught in the middle of murder and the town’s troubled past.

Lawsuit Looks To Prevent Conjuring Sequel

the-conjuring-reviewWarner Bros. and New Line have been hit with a copyright lawsuit seeking to block production of sequels to their hit horror film The Conjuring, reports Variety.

According to the site, the suit, filed Friday by Evergreen Media Group and Tony Derosa-Grund in federal court in Houston, alleges theft of the underlying rights to the case files of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
