From PNJ.com: Actor Robert Z’Dar, the massive man with the gigantic chin best known for the cult film series “Maniac Cop,” died Monday night in Pensacola after being hospitalized when he came to town to appear at Pensacon, according to his long-time manager and friend Jim Decker.
Born Robert J. Zdarsky, the 6-foot-2 actor was featured in more than 121 films, including cult classics like the first three “Maniac Cop” films, “Soultaker,” “The Final Sanction” and “Samurai Cop” (the sequel to which Z’Dar had been set to join immediately after Pensacon). He also enjoyed roles in mainstream hits such as “Tango & Cash” and TV roles on “Growing Pains” and the 1990 series “The Flash.” Continue reading
Check out several new one-sheets for David Robert Mitchell’s It Follows – already the most anticipated horror film of the year – which Radius-TWC will release on March 27th.
“For 19-year-old Jay (Maika Monroe), the fall should be about school, boys and weekends at the lake. Yet after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter she suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions; she can’t shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her. As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind.” Continue reading
I’ve got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be making its episodic debut a week later than originally planned — see revised release dates below — to allow for some additional fine-tuning. There’s always the Resident Evil HD remake to hold you over.
The good news is the bad news wasn’t all that bad, and we have some spooky monster footage, courtesy of the lovely folks at Capcom who only want the best for us. Continue reading
Jason Voorhees won’t be returning from his decades long vacation from video games for another nine months and he’s already claimed his first victim. Last week, the Kickstarter page for the indie slasher game Last Year was taken down and replaced with a claim of a copyright violation submitted by the rights holders of the Friday the 13th film franchise.
We’ve mentioned Last Year on a couple of our shows, and have been really excited since hearing about it, we even made the comparison between the two games. Continue reading
It’s no secret, I think Salma Hayek is one of the sexiest women alive. She’s steamier than a hot shit on a cold day, and I couldn’t be more excited to see her kicking ass (and half naked) in this new official trailer for Everly, available on iTunes and On Demand January 23, 2015 and in limited theaters February 27, 2015.
Wrong Turn 2 and Knights of Badassdom‘s Joe Lynch directs the tale of a woman (played by Salma Hayek) forced to take arms against a sea of assassins dispatched by her mob boss ex-husband. Continue reading
Adam Green has announced a tour for Digging Up the Marrow, which will be released theatrically February 20, 2015.
Image Entertainment’s Digging Up the Marrow was written and directed by Adam Green (Froze, Hatchet, Hatchet II), and inspired by the artwork of artist Alex Pardee.
The film stars Ray Wise (Twin Peaks, X-Men First Class), Will Barratt (Frozen), and a roster full of horror genre favorites and iconic artists all appearing as themselves. Continue reading
Every movie has a “final girl”, the one heroine who survives the slasher and goes on to tell the tale. (how else would we get a sequel?) Of course we all know some time down the road, the killer will come looking for you again. Here’s a trailer for Final Girls, shot in Chicago back in 2013.
The filmmakers will test the film with an audience at the Kansas City’s Panic Film Festival. The director of the film, Matt Storc, and two of the stars, Ashley Nickell and Emily Rochester, will be in attendance for a Q&A after the film. Continue reading
AMC released this absolutely stunning new trailer for The Walking Dead, which returns Sunday, February 8 at 9pm ET/PT.
After the tragic events of the mid-season finale–as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC–Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day to day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope. Continue reading
Earlier this month, indie developer Scott Cawthon confirmed the potentially imminent return of Freddy Fazbear and Friends with the very first teaser image (left) for Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, and now we have another. As far as I can tell, the latest image doesn’t reveal much. In it, we see a box of animatronic parts resting beneath a giant 3. Pretty straightforward.
If you’ve been watching American Horror Story: Freak Show, then you know the FX series is getting bit stale. It’s a bit unfortunate as the first three seasons were pretty damn spectacular – but it’s clear something’s broken, which means it’s time to fix it.
FX Networks CEO John Landgraf tells TVLine Sunday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour changes are coming, alerting us to internal debate over the direction of the Ryan Murphy-created anthology series. He also knows what the arc is for the fifth season, (presumably) returning this October. Continue reading
