Yup, there’s no denying horror soundtracks on vinyl are a huge hit right now, and what better time than Friday the 13th for Waxwork Records to announce they are releasing the original soundtrack to Friday the 13th on vinyl?
They’d been hinting at it on their Instagram page for a while and just today revealed the cover art for the release. You can check out a short clip of the mixing here.
I wasn’t able to make it out to Record Store Day 2014, but 2 of the releases I really wanted are still available! One of them I’m keeping a secret, however, the Ghostbusters glow in the dark 10″ is now available for preorder over at Sound Stage Direct!
The “ecto-green”, glow in the dark 10″ was released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film, and features the hit Ghostbusters theme (as made famous by Ray Parker Jr.) backed with the original 1984 dance remixes of the track. Best part, it’s only $17!
Remember when we said “horror soundtracks on vinyl are the new big thing”? In keeping with that theme; Waxwork Records has released photos of the packaging for their upcoming Creepshow vinyl. The artwork, done by Gary Pullin, is rich, vibrant, and wonderfully representative of the film. The vinyl shown below is a gorgeous white with red splattermarks and the gatefold has several pages built-in. Pre-orders for the package begin on April 1st via Waxwork Records. Continue reading
I shouldn’t be telling you guys this, that will just make it harder for me to find one; One Way Static has announced that their remastered Last House On The Left soundtrack, which was composed and performed by David Hess, will be getting a limited picture disc variant for Record Store Day. Limited to only 1,500 copies, the records are almost certainly going to sell out within minutes and become a collector’s item, it hits stores on April 19th!
It seems like horror soundtracks on vinyl is the new fad obsession, well, here’s another for ya. In case you’re asking, “Guys, what makes this vinyl horror soundtrack so special?” To which we’d reply, “who said you could speak to us?”, if we weren’t assholes, we may have said “because this one has a cover that’s illegal to show in many countries!”
One Way Static has announced that pre-orders are now open for their vinyl reissue of the 1981 controversial Italian horror film Cannibal Ferox (aka Make Them Die Slowly), which was composed by Roberto Donati (who was credited as Budy Maglione). Continue reading
