Horror Art Legend HR Giger Dies At Age 74

220px-HR_Giger_2012The horror community took another big hit this week as the renowned Swiss artist H.R. Giger died on Monday May 12, at the age of 74, as a result of injuries sustained in a fall. Giger, who passed away in a Zurich hospital, was most famous for the alien monster he created for Ridley Scott’s Alien.

The terrifying creature and sets he created for Ridley Scott’s film earned him an Oscar for special effects in 1980. In the art world, Giger is appreciated for his wide body of work in the fantastic realism and surrealistic genres. He will truly be missed.

V/H/S Trilogy Wraps Up With V.H.S. Viral

Rigor Mortis Trailer Fights Spirits With Kung Fu!

Rigor-Mortis-2013Well Go USA recently announced that Juno Mak’s festival fav, Rigor Mortis, will be opening on VOD and in limited locations June 6. Some announced theaters are: New York (Village East), Los Angeles (AMC Atlantic Time Square 14), San Francisco (AMC Metreon), San Diego (Gas Lamp 15), Seattle (AMC Pacific Place 11), and Honolulu (Pearlrige West 16).
