The Tracking Board has reported effects legend Stan Winston could see his 1988 Pumpkinhead rebooted!
The original Pumpkinhead was produced by the De Laurentiis Entertainment Group headed up by Italian producer Dino De Laurentiis. De Laurentiis went on to produce Hannibal and Red Dragon. For the rest of the franchise, the Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA) headed up by Brad Krevoy took the reins and is now back to produce the rebooted series, explains the site.
This could turn out to be really awesome, unless Pumpkinhead is CG.
Reddit user SLCer recently posted a handful of mock newspaper and magazine covers he created, covering the news of the gruesome murders that took place in the sleepy town of Haddonfield on Halloween night over 35 years ago. Let us know if you make prints of these, we’d definitely like one. Here’s the original post.
Remember when we said “horror soundtracks on vinyl are the new big thing”? In keeping with that theme; Waxwork Records has released photos of the packaging for their upcoming Creepshow vinyl. The artwork, done by Gary Pullin, is rich, vibrant, and wonderfully representative of the film. The vinyl shown below is a gorgeous white with red splattermarks and the gatefold has several pages built-in. Pre-orders for the package begin on April 1st via Waxwork Records. Continue reading
On July 18, The Purge: Anarchy returns with much more violence on a much larger scale. Moving from one family’s home, to the streets of L.A. (at least that’s where it was filmed) for an annual event where all crimes become legal for 12 hours, and all emergency services are shut down. On the night of the Purge, a man sets out to get vengeance from the man who killed his son, but becomes compelled to assist a mother and daughter who were taken from their home, along with a couple left stranded on the highway, in surviving the night.
We try to cover all things horror here, and we don’t cover a whole lot of video games, but we’re pretty excited for the Silence of the Sleep. It’s a 2D adventure horror game, being developed by one guy. It’s a real survival horror game, in the sense that you can’t fight, you run, hide or die. Creepy music, dirty environments, weird creatures, fills my black heart with joy!
Recently, the first tv spot for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was released, and if you love monkeys, and war, you’re going to be pretty stoked! Check it out in the replies.
In theaters July 11, Matt Reeves directs with Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Judy Greer and Jocko Sims starring. Continue reading
The picture to the left is what Google gave me when I searched for “giant fuckin letdown”. The phrase “giant fuckin letdown” is what AMC gave me in place of the season 4 finale of The Walking Dead. Don’t worry, we’re not going to go throwing out spoilers, for those of you who haven’t watched yet. I am however curious if you folks were as let down as me, has the Walking Dead boned you too many times? Will you be back next season? I say they stop working on this “companion show”, and work on making a show that isn’t consistantly disappointing.
We told you last week that the upcoming fourth season of American Horror Story would follow a traveling circus in the 1950’s. We are now able to confirm that new new season will be titled American Horror Story: Freak Show, and the shows producers have stated, season 4 will move away from the light-hearted (lack of) horror of Coven, and return to the much darker stylings of Asylum.
The series, returning this fall, is set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950. “Freak Show” finds Jessica Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S. Continue reading
