“ObsCure” Horror Series Coming to Steam

obscure_273788

Aside from Haunting Ground, my favorite obscure survival horror game for PS2 was ObsCure. ObsCure played out like your typical cheesy horror movie, a group of kids, of varying social circles (jock, nerd, slut) are stuck at their school while everyone else is gone, and crazy shit happens. Fear not children, for both ObsCure, and it’s sequel (ObsCure: The Aftermath) are coming to Steam next month! Now let’s just hope they keep the multiplayer so my brother in law and I can continue our nerd beating ways.

NY Mets Host 2nd Annual Zombie Night

The universe is definitely smiling on me when 2 of my favorite things come together. No, I’m not talking about peanut butter, and bacon; I’m talking about horror and baseball! Unlike every episode of our show thus far, I’m NOT talking about The Battery.

For Zombie Night, (June 13) the NY Mets are teaming up with the non-profit organization BOOM!Health. Each ticket purchase gives a $10 donation to BOOM!Health, which helps to transform lives through health and wellness in New York City and enables New Yorkers living with and at highest risk for illness, addiction, homelessness and poverty to realize their full potential. There are packages available for individuals and businesses to give and receive more on Zombie Night.

All information about the game and the zombie packages can be found here.

Harold Ramis Passes Away At Age 69

Harold Ramis, the Chicago comedic writer, director and actor whose films “Stripes,” “Caddyshack,” “Animal House,” “Groundhog Day” and “Ghostbusters” are among the most beloved — and successful — of all time, has died. He was 69.

FLOWERSramis

Ramis died overnight of complications from auto-immune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that causes swelling of the blood vessels. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at his Chicago-area home, where he returned to live in 1996 after 20 years in Los Angeles.

Despite Ramis’ passing, it looks like Ghostbusters 3 will go on without him.

Showtime’s Penny Dreadful Gets a Trailer

There’s been lots of buzz surrounding the new Showtime show Penny Dreadful for quite awhile now (pitched to multiple channels over the years), but finally we have a trailer and it’s looking to be creepy!

Some of literature’s most famously terrifying characters, including Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray and iconic figures from the novel Dracula, become embroiled in Victorian London.

The series was created by Oscar nominee John Logan (Any Given Sunday, Skyfall) and the cast boasts some pretty big names, including Timothy Dalton, Reeve Carney, Josh Hartnett, Harry Treadaway, Rory Kinnear, Billie Piper, and Eva Green, with the first two episodes helmed by The Orphanage director Juan Antonio Bayona.

Catch it on Showtime, May 11th!

The Evil Within Announce Release Date and Cover Art

Remember when Resident Evil was actually a survival horror game, that was both horrifying, and had an emphasis on survival? Well, RE creator Shinji Mikami does, and he’s ready to terrify us again, with his new game The Evil Within.
