Ep 157: Mom (1991) – WGT

Words can not possibly begin to describe how excited we are to be bringing you episode 157 of the Who Goes There Podcast. Let me just tell you, this is one of the most WTF movies we’ve covered on the show to date. Chosen by the king of our Patreon, this week we’re covering 1991’s Mom, which could best be described as Santa Clarita Retirement Home. Get ready, this episode gets a little wacky.

At the Hungry Heifer, we won’t give you a bum steer. We’ll give you the Who Goes There Podcast episode 157!

Ep 156: Grabbers – WGT

This week on the Who Goes There Podcast we get, “a lil cute” in honor of St Paddy’s Day. Once you disregard the religious aspects, St Paddy’s is a holiday about killing your liver with alcohol. For this reason we decided to do a movie about killing monsters with alcohol, and we even brought in a real life Irishman. Matt’s buddy John flew in from Ireland to drink, teach us all about Irish curse words, and discuss the 2012 Irish horror film Grabbers.

Ep 155: Veronica – WGT

St Paddy’s Day has come and gone and I’ve been “pissed as a fart” for the last 4 days; so please forgive us for the episode being a little late. Veronica is the newest movie to be “too scary to finish” and we’re taking the piss out of the “based of true events” ghost story.

None of this even matters, because on this episode we finally crowned the first ever Who Goes There champion! Tune in for this historical event!

Now I have another reason to hate Christmas; it’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 155!

Ep 154: The Lazarus Effect – WGT

It’s cold and rainy in San Diego right now, but things are on fire in the newest episode of the Who Goes There Podcast. This week’s episode was chosen by Patreon haomie Jennifer Barloon. Join us won’t you, as we take the piss out of the 2015 abomination known as The Lazarus Effect. Let’s hope unlike Lazarus, this movie stays dead.

We also talk about horror’s big night at the Oscars, our thoughts on 2018’s Mohawk and Universal’s plan to remake the 1996 Mark Whalberg thriller: Fear.

Smells like cow crap to me, Dad. No, it’s just the Who Goes There Podcast episode 154!

Ep 153: Tragedy Girls & Cemetery Man

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, there was no episode last week. In an attempt to show you we still love you, this week we’re bring you an extra sweet episode!

Originally we were going to record an episode on Matt’s favorite movie of 2017 Tragedy Girls; so this week we’re doing Tragedy Girls and Cemetery Man! If you’ve never seen Cemetery Man buckle up, because that shit is coocoo bananas. We also play a little game of “Who Ate It”, where we get a last meal and have to guess which serial killer ate it. All of this, the usual elementary school humor you love, and a whole lot more!

Burn in hell for gettin’ free, and burn in hell for showin’ the way! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 153!

Ep 152: Cloverfield Paradox & The Ritual

Last week Netflix shocked the world by not only releasing a new trailer for Cloverfield Paradox during the Superbowl, but announcing the film would be available to stream right after the game. In a move no one saw coming, Netflix shook the film industry to it’s very core. A few days later, Netflix quietly released horror festival darling: The Ritual.

Hold on to your Higgs Boson, because this week we’ve got a double header for ya, and we’re not talking about that “world’s largest gummy worm” in your mom’s nightstand. Why was one film marketed during the biggest sporting event of the year, and why was one quietly snuck in like a pinky in your pooper? Tune in a find out!

Meet me at the waterfront after the social for the Who Goes There Podcast episode 152!

Ep 151: Meet the Feebles – WGT

Last episode some listeners were a little disturbed by all of the talk about vomit. This week we’re making vomit fun again, with puppets! Before Peter Jackson was making movies about giant apes and wandering hobbits, he made Meet the Feebles; a movie full of sex, vomit, shit eating, Vietnam flashbacks, and heroin abuse. Oh yeah, and it all revolved around puppets. Did you write a song about your undying love for sodomy? Or, maybe you’re just a panty sniffing pachyderm, who got suckered into making a snuff film? If so, this one’s for you!

We stopped including the actual song in the episode due to copyright issues. So here is the chosen song: Master of Puppets by Metallica.

Ep 150: Slaughtered Vomit Dolls – WGT

We didn’t exactly love the fact that King Sam chose Slaughtered Vomit Dolls for episode 150, but we’re professionals, and the show must go on. This time, rather than pissing and moaning about having to watch such a “film”, we have an in depth conversation about the film, the goings on behind the scenes, what a deplorable piece of shit the director is, and the boundaries of consent.

With endless love, we left you sleeping. Now we’re sleeping with you. Don’t wake up. It’s just the Who Goes There Podcast episode 150.

Ep 149: Mom and Dad – WGT

Oh, boy. Boys and girl, it looks like Nick Cage is starting off 2018 at his most Cagiest. In his first horror film of 2018, Mr. Nicolas CooCoo Coppola dials his insanity meter up to eleven in Brian Taylor’s Mom and Dad. Buckle up, because this movie is non stop chaos from start to finish.

IMDB: A teenage girl and her little brother must survive a wild 24 hours during which a mass hysteria of unknown origins causes parents to turn violently on their own kids.

I think the point is to make us despair. To see ourselves as… animal and ugly. To make us reject the possibility that God could love us. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 149!

Ep 148: Inside (2017 Remake)

We’ve all heard the old saying, “in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” Well, I’m here to tell you that’s only partially true. It seems there is a third certainty that had been omitted from the original quote, “It is certain, if you enjoy a movie, at some point someone will remake that movie.” Now is the time when one of my favorite movies gets reimagined, “for an American audience”.

In the late 2000’s an explosion of “French extreme” horror films was released. Martyrs and or High Tension can often be found on any number of lists of the “most fucked up horror movies ever”. Unfortunately, the vastly superior Inside is often forgotten (as well as Frontier(s), but that’s a whole ‘nother rant). Now, ten years after it’s initial release, Inside has been Americanized. Don’t worry, we watched it so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.

Mommy says you’re not dead. Is that true? It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 148!
