Who Goes There Podcast Episode 17 – The Signal 2007 “What Beau Knows”

Unlike your aunt flow, we’re on time for once! We told you things are shaping up around here, and we weren’t just buffing coconuts. We had so much fun with a normie on the show last time, we decided to bring another. This week Jorge’s brother in law Beau comes on, Matt bad mouths movies Jorge loves, we talk about 2007’s The Signal and play a new game, called “Horror Tagline, or Screamo Lyric”. Tune in next time when we should have an incredibly special guest, as well as talk about the 1983 abortion, that was Boardinghouse.

While you’re being awesome and listening to this check us out on Facebook, Twitter, and subscribe to our show on iTunes.

Conjuring 2 Gets Release Date

For me, The Conjuring was the second biggest let down of the year (behind the massive turd that was You’re Next), but some people actually liked it, and Jorge will have an aneurysm is we don’t talk about this. The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist has been given a release date.

the-conjuring-review

Warner Bros./New Line have revealed today that The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist is going to hit theaters October 23, 2015. No plot details have been revealed, so until you read something official, take it all as rumor.

What we know for a fact? Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will return as Ed and Lorraine Warren. The sequel will likely see them taking on a new case, of course.

Worth noting here: The Conjuring 2 will not be a summer release like the first film was.

This is the first horror film to enter to the Halloween 2015 season.

Official Godzilla Trailer Released

Godzilla is back in the first full-length trailer for the upcoming reboot of the classic Japanese horror-film franchise, which began with the original 1954 movie.

Godzilla stars Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston as scientist Joe Brody and Martha Marcy May Marlene‘s Elizabeth Olsen as his daughter-in-law, Elle Brody. While the film’s teaser trailer gave a first look at the monster, the full-length trailer dives deeper into Godzilla’s harrowing backstory.

The remake from Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros., which hits theaters on May 16, is not the Godzilla franchise’s first reboot. A 1998 film pulled in $379 million at the global box office, but was widely panned by critics.

Set in the United States, Godzilla also stars Juliette Binoche, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins.

Ti West’s “The Sacrament” Releases Red Band Trailer

We here at the Who Goes There?! Podcast can never agree on how we feel about Ti West, some love him, some hate him, we all agree he looks great with an arrow through his face, and that his new red band trailer for “The Sacrament” looks almost as good!

The Sacrament opens on VOD platforms May 5 with a Limited theatrical run beginning on June 6.

“The Sacrament follows two Vice media correspondents as they set out to document their friend’s search to find his missing sister. They travel outside of the United States to an undisclosed location where they are welcomed into the world of “Eden Parish,” a self-sustained rural utopia comprised of nearly 200 members. At the centre of this small, religious, socialist community is a mysterious leader known only as “Father.” As their friend reunites with his sister, it becomes apparent to the newcomers that this paradise may not be as it seems. What started as just another documentary shoot soon becomes a race to escape with their lives.

“ObsCure” Horror Series Coming to Steam

obscure_273788

Aside from Haunting Ground, my favorite obscure survival horror game for PS2 was ObsCure. ObsCure played out like your typical cheesy horror movie, a group of kids, of varying social circles (jock, nerd, slut) are stuck at their school while everyone else is gone, and crazy shit happens. Fear not children, for both ObsCure, and it’s sequel (ObsCure: The Aftermath) are coming to Steam next month! Now let’s just hope they keep the multiplayer so my brother in law and I can continue our nerd beating ways.

NY Mets Host 2nd Annual Zombie Night

The universe is definitely smiling on me when 2 of my favorite things come together. No, I’m not talking about peanut butter, and bacon; I’m talking about horror and baseball! Unlike every episode of our show thus far, I’m NOT talking about The Battery.

For Zombie Night, (June 13) the NY Mets are teaming up with the non-profit organization BOOM!Health. Each ticket purchase gives a $10 donation to BOOM!Health, which helps to transform lives through health and wellness in New York City and enables New Yorkers living with and at highest risk for illness, addiction, homelessness and poverty to realize their full potential. There are packages available for individuals and businesses to give and receive more on Zombie Night.

All information about the game and the zombie packages can be found here.

This is a pretty awesome time to be a fan of horror television, Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Bates Motel, and let’s not forget NBC’s delicious darling Hannibal returns Friday 2/28 for it’s second season.

Harold Ramis Passes Away At Age 69

Harold Ramis, the Chicago comedic writer, director and actor whose films “Stripes,” “Caddyshack,” “Animal House,” “Groundhog Day” and “Ghostbusters” are among the most beloved — and successful — of all time, has died. He was 69.

FLOWERSramis

Ramis died overnight of complications from auto-immune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that causes swelling of the blood vessels. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at his Chicago-area home, where he returned to live in 1996 after 20 years in Los Angeles.

Despite Ramis’ passing, it looks like Ghostbusters 3 will go on without him.
