Teaser Trailer Posted for The Purge: Anarchy

In “everyone is doing it, so why don’t we?” news; the first look at The Purge: Anarchy has been posted in the form of a teaser trailer and a few stills. So it was either post this, or the “hip hop” version of Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achey Breaky Heart”, and no one wants that.

The Purge is set in the year 2022, in a world where crime has been completely abolished, except for once a year, where anything goes for 24 hours. Purge: Anarchy will see the chaos move from home, to the streets.

“A couple are quickly trying to get to their home before The Purge starts but their car runs out of gas, the radio announces the beginning of The Purge, the couple have no choice but to leave their car, a couple of meters away stand a group of Purgers on motorcycles. The couple try to survive and fight the purgers.”

Keep an eye out for The Purge: Anarchy, in theaters June 20.

American Horror Story Season 4 Details Announced

The first season of American Horror Story, Murder House, covered a variety of haunted house/ghost story horror tropes. Season two, Asylum, concerned serial killers, aliens, and demonic possession among other things. Coven was all about witchcraft, voodoo, and murderous mayhem. With the third season ending last week, what kind of season long tale of terror comes next?
For the longest time, rumors and fan speculation led many to believe that the fourth season would be called Circus and revolve around a spooky traveling big-top. Fan made posters mistaken for the real deal added fuel to the idea.

Series creator Ryan Murphy recently put those rumors to rest in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“I saw those posters. I don’t know where people came up with that idea. Sometimes I think its people wanting us to do topics and doing fan posters. No one has completely guessed what it is.”

Though the idea has been shot down, Murphy did hint at what Season Four has in store.
“(Season Four’s) a combination of two time periods, with the main one being the 1950′s. I don’t know. We haven’t started writing it yet, so I don’t really know the tone. I like that we had a lot of comedy this year, and I like the comic characters, so I think that will remain.”

A cross-period piece possibly similar to Season Two’s Asylum? Very possible. Being set in the 50′s could potentially open it up to all kinds of genre and historical horrors dated at that time period. As the series has proven time and time again in seamlessly melding. The Red Scare. The Cold War. Suburbia. Nuclear power. Giant monsters. B-Movies. Just the tip of the ice berg.

We have a long time coming until new details will be revealed, so what do you, the viewers at home think the next season of American Horror Story will be about?

Kevin Smith Finishes Krampus Script

Kevin Smith’s “retirement” is turning out to be more productive than his directorial career. Since “retiring” the director of Clerks recently wrapped principal photography on his podcast-inspired horror flick Tusk and already has another script at the ready, breaking the news on his Facebook page:

Paranormal Activity The Marked OnesIt took us less than a month, but Andy and I have finished the screenplay for a flick we’re calling COMES THE KRAMPUS! It’s 99 pulse-pounding pages of what’s essentially SModCo’s CREEPSHOW, with four terrifying tales stitched together by a freaky framing device.”
