View The Uncut Opening of “SoulMate”

Soulmate-CoverWitching Hour Films, the UK-based production company behind Axelle Carolyn’s feature debut Soulmate has made available in full the film’s opening scene, widely discussed after being cut to adhere to demands by the BBFC.

An ongoing topic of conversation between Carolyn and much of her followers and the horror community, the scene below is perhaps most shocking because it’s tone is visceral and poetic, rather than graphic and gross, as the forcing of cuts would have you believe. The mandate to trim is something of a baffling one, and certainly unfortunate, but not uncharacteristic of the British Board of Film Classification. Continue reading

We’re eating our enemies and spitting out the buckshot, it’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 27!

Help Crowd Source Rob Zombie’s “31”

RobZombie31Musician-turned-director Rob Zombie has official announced his Halloween-themed horror 31, which turns out to be a crowd-sourced effort. I’d pay him $1000 to NOT put his wife in this movie.

The film revolves around five people kidnapped in the days leading up to Halloween.

As with all crowd-sourced projects, there are different tiers that land backers different rewards, such as an autographed movie poster, autographed DVD, thanks in the credits, lifetime access to every Rob Zombie show, and more. Continue reading
