Robert Englund To Say Goodbye To Freddy, Forever

freddyRobert Englund will officially say goodbye to Freddy Krueger at this July’s Flashback Weekend here in Chicago.

The official website announced that Englund, who will be appearing at the convention to sign autographs, will be donning his iconic Freddy makeup that made him famous.

The kicker is that there’s are photo packages with Englund while in character; this is seriously a once in a lifetime opportunity. Continue reading →

Dead Rising Coming to the Big Screen…Kinda

dead-rising-e3-2006-pic4-2It’s hard to believe that Dead Rising made its debut on the Xbox 360 eight long years ago. It was the reason my wife and I even got an Xbox 360, and now, six games later and we’re finally getting a feature-length movie adaptation.

Now before you get too excited, you should know that this won’t see a theatrical release. Instead, it will premiere as a timed exclusive on Crackle, Sony’s VOD platform, before it’s made available on-demand elsewhere and on physical media. Continue reading →

Paranormal Activity 5 Pushed Back to 2016

paranormal-activity-5-a-venirParanormal Activity 5: the next planned release in Paramount Pictures’ successful found footage franchise is now reportedly being pushed back to 2016.

The film was originally said to be having trouble finding a cool new take on the found footage/ghost genre, this is the reason that Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones nearly became the fifth film, and was released this past January. Fortunately, it didn’t perform as well as expected, and now it looks as if the studio is taking a (smart) breather. Continue reading →

Halloween: The Complete Collection Box Revealed

hccps300dpi-emailAs a special Friday the 13th treat, Anchor Bay and Scream Factory have revealed the box art for the beyond epic Halloween: The Complete Collection, which slashes onto Blu-ray September 23rd. It comes in two different sets, one with 10 discs and the other with 15, but the deluxe version is most certainly the way to go since it contains restored versions of alternate cuts of many of the films.

Hemlock Grove Season 2 Trailer, A Lot Less Twilighty

hemlock-grove-poster-691x1024The full trailer for the second season of the Emmy nominated Netflix original series, Hemlock Grove, has been released (in the comments) and it looks a lot less Twilighty bromance.

The gory supernatural dramatic thriller from executive producer Eli Roth will premiere on Friday, July 11th at 12:01 AM PT.

Executive Producer Eli Roth says Netflix supported them taking the series in a “dangerous direction” stating that “they encouraged us to go even further – into a scarier, darker, and sexier place,” he explained. “We guarantee you won’t see anything like this anywhere else on television.” Continue reading →
