The Who Goes There?! Podcast would like to take this opportunity to celebrate what would have been the 108th birthday of a true horror legend, Lon Chaney Jr.

Yes, it’s a day late, it’s not like he remembered my birthday or anything!
The first season of American Horror Story, Murder House, covered a variety of haunted house/ghost story horror tropes. Season two, Asylum, concerned serial killers, aliens, and demonic possession among other things. Coven was all about witchcraft, voodoo, and murderous mayhem. With the third season ending last week, what kind of season long tale of terror comes next?
For the longest time, rumors and fan speculation led many to believe that the fourth season would be called Circus and revolve around a spooky traveling big-top. Fan made posters mistaken for the real deal added fuel to the idea.
Series creator Ryan Murphy recently put those rumors to rest in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“I saw those posters. I don’t know where people came up with that idea. Sometimes I think its people wanting us to do topics and doing fan posters. No one has completely guessed what it is.”
Though the idea has been shot down, Murphy did hint at what Season Four has in store.
“(Season Four’s) a combination of two time periods, with the main one being the 1950′s. I don’t know. We haven’t started writing it yet, so I don’t really know the tone. I like that we had a lot of comedy this year, and I like the comic characters, so I think that will remain.”
A cross-period piece possibly similar to Season Two’s Asylum? Very possible. Being set in the 50′s could potentially open it up to all kinds of genre and historical horrors dated at that time period. As the series has proven time and time again in seamlessly melding. The Red Scare. The Cold War. Suburbia. Nuclear power. Giant monsters. B-Movies. Just the tip of the ice berg.
We have a long time coming until new details will be revealed, so what do you, the viewers at home think the next season of American Horror Story will be about?
Kevin Smith’s “retirement” is turning out to be more productive than his directorial career. Since “retiring” the director of Clerks recently wrapped principal photography on his podcast-inspired horror flick Tusk and already has another script at the ready, breaking the news on his Facebook page:
It took us less than a month, but Andy and I have finished the screenplay for a flick we’re calling COMES THE KRAMPUS! It’s 99 pulse-pounding pages of what’s essentially SModCo’s CREEPSHOW, with four terrifying tales stitched together by a freaky framing device.”
It is my unfortunate duty to report; despite making it through 2013 without a Paranormal Activity film, this year we will have not one, but two. Armed with this knowledge, and a massive hangover from Three Kings Day, we take a look at Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (Cheech’s Revenge). We all know the best way to revive a dying franchise is to give it an overly ethnic spinoff. So come along as we kick this shit off like gang busters! You’ll find out what tequilla no real Mexican drinks, learn all about “squaxing”, catch a sneak peak at the new “Call of Duty: Witches” and find out why Mikey is the most white Mexican you’ve never met. Put on your boots, boys and girls, we’re layin it on thick! It’s the Who Goes There?! Podcast. Tune in next time when we talk about “Here Comes The Devil” with special guest Lauren Ashley Carter!
